Spray Paint Window Blinds

Make sure you have enough space between them so you can paint the sides at the same time. Flip the slats over and paint the other side with two to three thin coats of paint.

Allow the blinds to dry overnight then reassemble and rehang them. There was a surprising amount of paint that came out. The shellac spray primer will bind to bare wood or wood finished with both oil and water based coatings. Kilz original 13 oz.

Once the paint dries apply another coat if necessary allowing it to dry as well. When deciding to spray paint what you have instead of buying new you need to calculate the cost of supplies and your time as to whether that outweighs the expense of new blinds. You know how we can be in a hurry sometimes well too often. Apply two to three thin coats of paint to each side of the blinds and allow the final coat to dry for one hour.

When there is only a little paint left in the can you may be better off spraying it into a plastic cup and then using a paint brush to paint the blinds in sections that need it. Spray paint the blinds put down a drop cloth or tarp then lay out the slats. Spray each slat with the shellac spray primer until the slat is coated evenly. Then spray the blinds beginning and ending each paint burst beyond the edge of the blinds to help prevent drips.

White low odor oil based interior primer spray sealer and stain blocker. Paint the horizontal bar that holds the blinds up as well. I did this with the last can. So i decided to try and spray paint it.
